#29 2D1N Turi Beach Resort, Batam

Holaaaaa i'm back (after days of procrastinating)! Yay to those who are done with finals & all the best to those who are still mugging. Anws, summer is here!!! This is the time to plan some getaway trips so just thought that this review might be helpful for you guys.
I know when it comes to choosing Batam resorts, Montigo Resorts tops many people's list. We have not been there but perhaps the next time. I know it's pricey as it's a whole villa so for those looking for a cheaper option, you could consider Turi Beach Resort. If i'm not wrong, it's travelers' second choice after Montigo.
We saw the Groupon deal but gave it a miss as there were too many extra charges. We booked it last october on Trivago which led us to the cheapest site (at that time): Expedia. 2D1N stay costs us $144 including buffet breakfast for 2 & we chose the premier tirta room. Ferry tickets were booked separately.
DAY 1

Went for lunch as we were famished. Ordered from the Aqua bar as we had no other choice & it was very pricey as expected.

Got changed into our swim wear ready to hit the pool. Hi there mr macho, whatchu thinking about?
But was stuck in the room as the safe lock was faulty & had to wait for the staff to come fix it. Waited for almost 20 mins, made repeated calls & got quite fed up.

Didnt swim in the sea, as we were already dry and didn't want to get wet again haha. The beach was beautiful though. Nice spot to spam photos!
Washed up and had a Mediterranean Buffet. There were other dining options but I guess the buffet was more worth it.
The food was not bad! There was a live band too where you could request for songs. They did katy perry's roar for us hehe :)
Headed back to our room to chill. Idk why but we have bad luck with rooms such that we always kena the room that is sofa king far from the lift!!! Whyyyyyy
Matchy tee hehe. Was quite bored in the room as there was NO wifi :( only available in the lobby sobs...so we just watched tv and slept quite early
DAY 2
Buffet breakfast time. Don't know why I can't find any photos of the food but it's just the standard food like sausages, toast, ham, porridge etc.

We had some time to spare before catching the shuttle bus to the mall so we headed straight to the jetty

Headed back to the lobby to catch the bus. Couldn't remember which mall we went to and no photos haha! But be sure to check out their supermarts for cheap stuff like snacks and daily essentials like shampoo, toothbrush, shavers and PADS (damn cheap, must buy okay girls!)

Some useful info:
-When you have arrived at Nongsapura Ferry Terminal, there will be a dispatcher staff and shuttle bus on standby at every schedule of the ferry timings. Once you reach the terminal, approach the sign saying “NONGSA RESORT”. They will escort you to the bus which will take you to the resort.
-If you reach earlier than the check-in time, just leave your bags at the lobby counter and go explore the resort first.
-There will be a SGD $50 deposit upon check-in which will be refunded during check-out. You can choose not to leave any but you can't order room service.
Overall:
The transfer from the ferry terminal was smooth and the staff were all very friendly. I liked how there were 2 pools to laze in and the beach and not forgetting the beautiful jetty. The room was cosy and clean too just that we wished there was wifi. Now for the downside, price of the food was steep and you have no other option so die-die much pay. I also felt that the resort lacked the entertainment value. Besides lazing around there's nothing much to do (besides parasailing) unless you go shopping. We wouldn't come back again not because it was bad but we would prefer somewhere with more entertainment in the resort itself. I would recommend this to those who just want a relaxing getaway with a beautiful scenery.
