#6 The Escape Artist
10:00 pmHello guys! So we found about this place a few months back but never had the chance to go. But last december, we finally went to check it out! This place is definitely not for the faint hearted or people who are claustrophobic. If you're a couple who seeks thrills, do read on.
Basically, you will be locked in a room filled with clues to solve to get yourselves out before time runs out. Each session lasts 50 mins & there's a timer on a tv screen to help you keep track of time. They have 2 outlets, one in princep street and the other in bukit timah. You can choose from a range of themes where the difficulty, lighting, fear factor & group size differ.
We chose injustice, a jail breaking theme. It was recommended for 6-10 players but the both of us just went ahead. We were afraid that it too be too much for us to handle but it turned out better than expected (because of the staff's help). You will be provided a cordless phone where you can ring the staff in the event you get stuck. We felt so paiseh cause we kept ringing it haha :$ Phones & bags were not allowed in so no photos of the room to show you guys :( But.....i found out that 2 mediacorp artists (romeo & cheryl) went & they aired part of the process. So hurry & check it out here ! (it's in chinese though)
The only photos we took were at the photobooth after we ended.
Some tips if you're planning to go:
- Make a booking on their website (here)
-If you want a cheaper option, head to the bukit timah branch & choose the slots before 6pm. But i'm not sure how accessible that outlet is. The one at princep street is pretty easy to locate but more pricey.
-For your first visit, you should probably choose the difficulty level of 2/5 or below unless of course, you have exceedingly high IQ. Trust me, 2/5 difficulty is not as easy as you think.
-Go on a weekday before 6pm. Not only is it cheaper, they give you more time inside because there's no booking after yours. We stayed in there for an hour plus before the staff came in. Shiok or what!
-Bring your bottle in unless you won't feel thirsty for 50 mins.
We're definitely gna go back again. Once is never enough!
That's all for now. Feel free to leave a comment if you have any ideas/places you would like us to do a review on & stay tuned! ^^
